how should i treat someone who has hurt me?

Usually when someone hurt you, you keep thinking of a way to get back at the person, right? Our logic of fairness makes us think that we need to get even and show the other person what it feels like to be hurt. However, there is a far better way to handle the situation, and the Bible tells us how, in Romans 12: 19: “Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord”. Do you remember the story of Joseph in the Bible how his brothers wronged him and had sold him as a slave, don’t you think this hurt Joseph a lot!!! But later on things had changed for Joseph; he became the ruler in all Egypt.  He now had the power to get back at his brothers for what they did to him. He had a chance to get even, but he didn’t, instead he chose to show kindness. What would you have done if you were Joseph? Imagine if the person who hurt you was standing before you now pleading for mercy and help. Think of the many wrong things you have done in your life, all of which God has forgiven you at great cost. God wants you to forgive the person who hurt you, in the same way you have been forgiven, and He wants you to show kindness like Joseph did, and He will help you to do it. Read Matthew 18:23-24   Jesus said: “But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you …” Matthew 5:44.
More Devotions
We are born with the nature to trust others because that is the way God has made us.
Once, when the disciples returned after a long day of fishing and after they had lunch with the Lord, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, do you truly love Me more than these here?”
How would you feel if someone lied at you, then said sorry, and then lied again and again!
