We all do wrong things sometimes. And sometimes it makes us feel ashamed and guilty. We would be perhaps afraid that someone would find out what we had done, and that we would be punished. Have ever been in such situation? And have you tried to cover up your act by perhaps trying to be extra helpful or do something good to cover up your guilt. What if someone came to you and said, “I will take the blame for what you did? What if he said, “I will take your punishment as well. I will even take away your guilt so that you no longer have that awful guilty feeling. It will be as if you hadn’t sinned at all!” What a relief to know that there is someone who has taken the blame for all the wrong things we have done—Jesus. He has taken the sin and guilt of the whole world on Him. But Jesus does not only forgive us; He accepts us as His sons and daughters. And on top of that He blesses us with every good thing. That is grace: to forgive – to accept – to bless. The Bible says: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8
More Devotions
We are born with the nature to trust others because that is the way God has made us.
Once, when the disciples returned after a long day of fishing and after they had lunch with the Lord, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, do you truly love Me more than these here?”
How would you feel if someone lied at you, then said sorry, and then lied again and again!
