why should a leader be like a servant?

Have you ever played ‘follow-the-leader’? What is everyone supposed to do? The followers must watch the leader and do everything exactly the way the leader does it—because that is what followers do. In real life, being a leader is a responsible job that should not be taken lightly because people watch their leader and follow his or her example. Jesus was like this, He was a Servant Leader. Although He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords yet He humbled Himself and willingly became a servant so that He could come and live among us and help rebuild ruined lives. Not only that, but when Jesus was on earth He was leading by example, He was serving everybody. He healed the sick, he taught the crowds, He fed them, and He washed the feet of His disciples and told them, he who wants to be the first among you should be your servant. Jesus said that He didn’t come to be served but to serve, and with his servant hood to all man He became their leader, their example, their master, their Lord, and by laying His life for them on the cross, He became their Savior. Jesus was the greatest leader ever, and a good leader makes leaders.   So do you want to be a leader who serves like Jesus, or do you want to be a bossy person who controls!!! Know that: if serving is below you, then leadership is way beyond you.   Jesus says: “But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.” Luke 22:26
More Devotions
Emotions are feelings caused by things that happen around us or things that happen to us. Some situations can make us feel peaceful and happy; others make us feel sad, embarrassed, angry or afraid.
Usually on a rainy day, when the sky is a gray, we say that the sun isn’t shining, only because we can’t see it. But if we could rise above the clouds, we would see that the sun is shining, and has never ever stopped shining, not even for a single moment.
Some people go to church every Sunday, yet they show little spiritual growth. There are no exciting changes in their lives because they don’t put into practice what they hear in the church or read in their bibles.
